Yes - that is part of what the increase in protein I referred to is about. It also helps because when you are menstruating, your muscles go a bit lax and protein helps to firm them up a bit (not a technical or adequate description but it gives an idea of what is meant!) this helps with cramps and the aches and pains associated with muscle laxness.

If I remember, I have a couple of cups of raspberry leaf tea every day when it starts to get achy. Evening primrose oil usually sorts out the suicidal depression/homicidal anger bit, but apparently I can get too bouncy (not that *I* think that's a problem). And a hot water bottle/nice fluffy duvet/large bar of choc are comforting in their own right. I feel really sorry for us ladies that suffer, my friend has only one week in four where she feels well enough to laugh at the world. :/

Not a helpful comment Hal, no matter how funny you meant it.

Men don't have to put up with PMS, they cause it!! Evidently if you don't have a man around at the time you don't get PMS!!!

that hurt... "jerry makes some sarky comment"... "Jerry: And that's what you get when you suffer from being a Pendantic Male without Sympathy, Duane. That's a mean swing you've got there, Charlotte! And now a word from our corporate sponsors... Twinnings, purveyors of fine raspberry tea.... Cadburys, makers of fine chocolate.... AND Beddy Bears (5 minutes in the microwave and they stay hot for ages)...." Seriously, period pain is not something I would wish on anyone. Mel once used an energy transfer technique to show me briefly what it feels like (for the good on all and to bring my ego down a peg or two). Trust me Duane, sorry Hal (it's hard to tell the difference!) you REALLY REALLY REALLY don't want to go there. Stick with the shaving cuts - we've got the far far far better deal. On a spiritual note - the Native Americans call this the Moon Renewal Time. This is women were surposed to take a rest and banned from doing any work whatsoever. Instead, they would visit the Moon Renewal Lodge (where men of course were banned from) get back in touch with nature and their spirituality, recognise the energy flow that was going on and let their energies rebalance with their hormones. Now, I'm not advocating banning women from work if they want to carry on (I value my life). OTOH, I think a lof of men (yes, myself included Mel) could be more sympathetic to what is going on. Face it guys, women's bodies are just cleverer than men's at the end of the day. White Coyote

Women's bodies are cleverer than men's?? You forgot to mention their brains as well...... haha! I feel sorry for all women who suffer every month. Me? I don't feel a thing, not even slightly cross. My sister, however, has gotten through several husbands, some of whom are under her expansive patio. Now childbirth - if you want to talk about pain, hormones, discomfort and chocolate, that's something else.....
