A mind swirls in a moment of madness Sour smoke burns her nostrils, stings her lungs Orange tongues lick her skin; a silent scream Deafens the crowded market place Her soul tormented, writhing in heat Her body scarred with a million wounds Forced confessions mutilate her young body Only the peace of the gods comfort her. Her slight form is enveloped; gone forever; purified Her ashes consecrate the air as incense We cast the circle with her blood, never water, Her pathetic fading shadow shames us.
And every Samhain I remember her I contemplate the sacrifice to alien laws You can take my life but can you take my creed? Can you take my life with a hangman' noose?
