You look at me ; I gaze at you, an angel incarnate Our eyes met over a crowded room My heart soared, higher than a butterfly Upborn on a fragrant summer breeze Time stood still, my soul wept And you haunted me that night, now and always.
In the twightlight I saw your face I saw you in the shadows of the night Your dark curls, and your feminine laughter Merged with my dreams, taunting me quietly Your flowing dress swept the darkness away Your smile heralded in the sunrise.
But as I hold you, listening to gentle heartbeat Feeling your soft rhythm I know it can never be How can happiness be a crime?
For when I take your hand in mine, on that pale white finger Lies the token of another, a circle of gold That binds you to another's arms And I know I must set you free.
Come here my love, draw nigh Hold me close just one more time For you belong to another Its time to say goodbye.
And wherever you go ; wherever you may be Think of me when you see a spring sunrise Hear my voice in the chill winter wind And know that a corner of my heart, my soul Will forever belong to you.

That is such a sad poem - it made me cry.
