for those of you out there that know me you will all know that i am a solitary pagan witch leaning towards traditional witchcraft. i also have a interest in other paths but this not mean that i have joined any groups or covens like others that i personally know. i like to work alone but at the same time if it is a special occasion then you will normally see me at the open rituals. why is it though that if you show an interest in someones path people jump to conclusions and think that you're gonna join that path? ?? has anyone else ever had this problem and how did you deal with it? bb sam

People always jump to conclusions, it's natural, you just ignore them!!! I call myself a hedgewitch 'cos tht's the nearest I can get to what I do and how I feel. That is not to say I'm not interested in other types of pagan path, but I'm happy with what I do. I don't do rituals very often, mainly Samhain and Yule, which I celebrate with a couple of friends. I also consider myself to be what used to be called a Celtic 'Soul Friend' which means that I listen to peoples problems. Sometimes I give advice, but I prefer for people to talk things through, and come to their own decisions/conclusions. I do like to sit in the shamans corner at the pub moot though just to prove I can be flexible in my thinking!!!

you're right gwenifer , i should not listen to tittle tattle. besides it would be a dream come true if i could join a group but with the fact that i don't get out as often as i used to and have a disabled son to consider as well as a daughter that just isn't gonna happen for a long time. besides even if i had whats the big deal bb sam

Correct me if I'm wrong but this sounds like you are talking from recent (?) experience rather than a hypothetical situation!

Hi Sam Sorry to see that the general tittle tattle gossip mungers have got around to you now, dont let it bother you, something else will be the topic of the day soon enough and yes you are right if you had joined a group of whatever kind that is your business no one elses thank you for your support ian, it is apprciated. and yes you are right i'm sure the gossip mongers will soon have something new to keep their sad lifes entertained with. if people have questions or stuff then why don't they speak to the person in question before ranting about stuff that they have no idea about. yes i shall be honest and say that seax wicca interests me. considering i always like to make it clear to people that i am a witch and not a wiccan, its a big step for me to realise that the path of wicca is beckoning me back, which i think is lovely. ;D and i'm not daft i know this all stems from one night when ursus was telling me what a lyblack was, it was me that said well that covers me, not ursus or anyone else, just lil ole me. its up to me what i do and what path i follow and if i do decide that seax is for me then so be it. but my gods, i've got a long way to go before anyone would consider me for a group or coven, which in my opinion is correct for people to do so. sorry for the rant but it has to be done, and i do tend to have a knack at sorting crap out before things get seriously worse. bb sam
