I know politics is something of a dirty word these days but with the forthcoming elections I thought the following lyrics were of note. Apart from the anti-war comments the lyrics are politically neutral, apart from encouraging people to vote and be active, so I figure it's okay to post them here.

Yes I voted this morning. I had to cuss the fact that we could vote for 3 people locally but only one in the European elections. It would have been much easier the other way around as there were lots of interesting parties standing for Europe.

not yet, I'll be wandering out tonight to find where they've moved the polling station to. it used to be at the end of my road, now it's in a school somewhere.

Voted at lunchtime, I have to vote or my dad will come back and haunt me!!

Have voted now. Made sure I didn't tick the BNP box. I didn't even know we had a BNP candidate in our area.

We've had some interesting tactics from the BNP in our area - litter picking and lots of other user friendly stuff. If you didn't know all of their policies they come across as "quite nice really" - several of their leaflets have missed out a great portion of their racial policies and only included the "tough on grime and crime" approach. Quite scary really.

I voted and for once am pleased to report that the party I voted for got in in all three seats. I finaly feel as though the Lib Dems are getting there.

Plus the Lib Dems have been working hard for years in my ward.
The other parties only show their faces come election time.
