They definitely fall into the category of "not very nice". When I had one years ago they gave a pre-med first, which I had to do without as I had a visit to the dentist straight afterwards. I guess they're slightly better than the one that goes in the other end though! Rhiannon

Yes, I'm OK, no ulcer! Just too fat and out of condition but hey that's what 7 years of having an inadequately treated under active thyroid will do for you!!

Oh my goodness I know what you are sufferring then. I had around 5 years of a totally untreated under-active thyroid and had to go private to get thyroxine. A consultant at the QE said I'd be dead in three months if I kept taking it - that was 8 years ago and I'm still on it. It's a BASTARD of an illness though because it just makes you so bloody unattractive! Fat, thick and balding basically. Whole chunks of my memory gone, a career ballsed up 'cos they said I had M.E and I had to leave work, and the constant bloody battle with my weight, even tho I'm on thyroxine. Never had an edoscopy tho, thank the gods. (coo, it's been years and I'm STILL bloody cross! ) Much, much love to you, hope you get properly treated.

Haemedwif when I first started taking the natural thyroxine at the start of this year I wanted to sue every Endo I had ever seen who refused to listen to me!! I can't believe how much better I feel and how I can get around a little more. Though my Endo at the moment keeps telling me that T3 is dangerous and can cause heart attacks, I tell him I'd rather have a heart attack and die than die slowly because of not having treatment that works!!! They are a bunch of mutual back slappers who have no thought or intelligence.
