I didn't know that bit, I did think it were a bit odd that it wasn't a total strike, it seems I were a little hasty

The teachers may well have researched thier wage paket many years ago. However with a rising cost of living that means nothing. I know that my food bill seems to be rising every week! The wages must go up along side this, or else they are in effect bieng paid less than when they started.

Erm, actually that's not the case, the police, for example are not allowed to strike.

yeah i agree that applies to all of us and good for them standing up for themselves. its better than just standing around complaining about it.

So the fact thet they have had consistantly higher then inflation pay rises for the last 8 years means nothing?
The thing your forgetting is that pay rises drive up inflation so a minority demanding more money for for themselves ends up costing the rest of more.
Hummm that makes sence.
And lets not forget, until the dispute is settled, that 1/4 of teachers who said no are stopping the other 3/4 from getting more money. Don't you just love the democratic process.
Hey, how about this for an idea. How about those of us who don't have kids NOT paying towards those with kids costs?
