Does anyone have any good suggestions for a safe detoxification potion/drink I could treat my liver to? I've overdone the booze a fair bit the last couple of weeks and could really do with taking a break. I'm off the pop now for some time, and I'm eating and drinking much more healthily, but a little extra wouldn't go amiss.

I was watching a program on tv a while back called "The truth about food" which covered the whole area of detoxing. Basicly is said there aint much you can do you speed it up other then drink plenty of fluids. In the space of between 24 and 48 hours, your body does a very effective detox itself. In the program they compared fasting, eating fruits, eating a normal health diet and just drinking water. The eating a normal health diet scored better then all the other options. I know its not what you wanted, but that was the crux of that they found. I think you can get the program on the download thingy, it was a very facinating program with some interesting results. A good example was how carrots don't help you see in the dark (theres a surprise) but they do contain a chemical which helps to propect the eyes from UV damage which, the the elderly, could mean the difference between premature blindness or maintaining normal eyesight. Heres a link to the site, you can watch the program there. www.bbc.co.uk/sn/humanbody/truthaboutfood/

No no, that's fine Wolf. Drinking shedloads of water is far preferable to treating myself to some weird concoction of panda gall bladder and milk thistle blended together at midnight using a pestle and mortar handed down from my granny*. Thanks for the link as well, I'll have a watch of it shortly. *please note, this is not a recommended recipe - this is humour
