I think this request belongs here! ;D
My 8 yr old grandaughter needs a Tudor style dress for a school project. Carol is able to make her one but needs to know where she can get material/patten from. Any of you clever lot out there any ideas?

Brian,
Have a look on E-bay i've seen adult size pattens on there but i've never looked for childrens. There are lots of ready made childrens costumes to buy on there and they go for a reasonable price.

Simplicity do a lot of patterns for this sort of thing, including kids stuff. The Fancy Silk Stores round by the Rag market have an excellent selection of patterns in the Medieval range.

hi Brian,
I don't know if this will be of any help. remember i used to work in a fancy dress shop. well, they do children's hire and I'm sure they have that style of dress.
it only cost £10.00 to hire for children and they would try and fit her up with all the accessories too.
it may be less hassle than paying for patterns and material.
i suppose its if you want to keep the costume or not.
if you really want to make one too keep, the pattern shop on the corner near the pub by the rag market do a great range of patterns and materials
