I and a couple of friends have ME ( Chronic fatigue syndrome) And we each have it to varying degrees I am still able to work albeit by vastly reduced hours but some people with M.E can't. I don't like to take pain killers and try not to when possible but sometimes there is nothing else for it. lavender is good for relaxing muscles and can help with sleep and massage can help. i have had hypnotherapy and phycotherapy (please forgive spelling) and i think they have both helped in a way.PMA Burgamont is good to help stabilize mood ( use in an oil burner) Light exercise ( I know its almost impossible sometimes but a little exercise can be SO beneficial just take it easy) struggling to remember more i am paying for the weekend now trying hard not to crawl to the medicine cabinet :OH well it was worth it

Don't use too much lavender though as it turns stimulant in larger doses.

Gensing ( don't know if spelt that right) is good helps with tiredness and i think helps with memory but can remember,
thanks rob yes with lavender i use a couple of drops either in a warm bath before bed or on my pillow i have found visualization helps takes my mind of things as well and can help me get back of to sleep,
Unfortunately haven't found anything yet to stop the waking up thought out the night except copious amounts of alcohol and this doesn't always work

Try clary sage it is a sedative.
You almost got Ginseng right in spelling just need to change the vowels around
