All these sites promise easy web space set up yet after ages on Virgin (our broadband provider) I have no new mail box or way to get into where i can start setting up my web space.
I want to set up a site for my jewellery, as that is what one does these days, but neither Virgin or Outlook Express will co operate.
Argh! Wish I could afford to pay someone to do all this but ...insert picture of moths coming out of wallet here...

I've got an address for free web hosting somewhere.... I'll dig it out. I've got a copy of DreamWeaver if you want to put a site together over the summer?

I suggest you contact the support team, as they should give you information on how to access the stuff.

Hi Marie,
Why not set up an Ebay shop. My wife has one. She also has a website but the activity comes from ebay!
Ebay is easy honest.

I have an ebay account but until I get my own fancy smancy camera (which hopefully will be soon) I can only use images of work already photographed. Not suitable for an ebay shop because that would require pics of currant pieces available for sale.
Thanks for the suggesiton though, it is on my endless to do list. Just as an aside, got the email working now just need to start on building pages to upload to the free web space we are allotted on blueyonder.
Fraid I agree as far as Geocities, total waste. Spent ages building a site a few years ago then one day it refused to recognise my log in codes etc and was never able to get back in again.

I have a good quality digi camera, I will happily snap all your current work! Does your printer have an SD card slot?

I tend to think having a ebay shop tends to put pressure on you if you have aload of customers, I know someone that used to own one and almost made themsleves ill over worry about there customers, I had to tell them to close it down. or atleast get some sort of partnership going with someone they trust & have a common interest.

Yes our computer has a slot to upload stuff from a digi camera. So if we could work out a fgood time that would be super!
Eventually I do want to use ebay (not sure if through a shop or just by listing stuff as and when). Mostly because I need to find ways to generate sales that do not involve actually having to be there. Or being weather dependant etc.

Well photos would be good start, you can use them for both then can't you? The best way of using e-bay is to list your stuff, if you have a shop thats going to put you under a bit of pressure as the trouble with shops is that you have to keep them stocked!! How about putting an advert up in the Pen museum? I can try and find some space for you to put an A4 or A5 poster.

Well if we can sort out some poss pic taking dates etc then I could produce a poster.
Also, thought about people doing parties where their friends could come and see (and buy) pieces. I did one for my husbands friends and it went OK. However, that takes a wider cicle of people then I currantly have to hand.
