Ok I have kidney disease and have to take medication to try to delay losing any further function. Thus putting off dialysis for as long as poss.
But so far all the meds they have tried have side effects. Some were just annoying, some were unbearable. The latest one is proving troublesome and it seems like I am stuck having to pick the best of a bad lot and deciding what side effect I can tolerate for the greater good.
Frustration
I know there are others out there sith the same prob so just thought I would have a moan Evadarkness

HI Marie
The only advice I can give is to go and see Denise in the Rag Market about what herbal options might help you keep your kidneys as healthy as possible.

Just a note, I can understand a little of how you feel but I will say there is a form you can get from the doctors surgery that you fill in if you have any unexpected side effects from any meds you are taking. If the side effects you are experiencing are not on the leaflet inside the pack then get a yellow form and fill it in!!! This will ensure that the side effects you are getting will be monitored. I know it is of little consolation but we have to be responsible and think of other people in our situation and worse who may be helped or even believed by stating your case.

I know its rolled out time and time again, but stay mentaly positive about the drugs and find out what to expect from the side effects. Doing both DOES make a real difference. I found talking to others who have or had to take the same drugs as me help as well, sometimes some bizzare side effects occure which although known are not documented or investigated and sometimes someone has found a way to reduce the side effects which work.
This does also tie back to what Gwenifer said about monitering any side effects.
One final thing. Moan about it as and when you need to, but always try to be humourous with it, again that helps as well. Keeping a positive mental slant IS paramount.
