I was a 70's babe, ;D Living was in Blackpool, up to no good and having a whale of a time, out clubbing at "Discos" every night. I had the "Big Hair",the false eyelashes, the spray on black shinny trousers with the tight, tight, off the shoulder black top and the mandatory five inch high heels. I was a Disco Babe! ;D ;D Thats why I'm a knacked old git now. but "oh what a night"!!! ;D Poshx

I know I'm very late in here but: Oh Eleanor - yes - national health orange juice two bottles every month. Wonderful memories. Unfortunately you may remember that it was accompanied by an identical shaped bottle of cod-liver oil [and three tins of National Dried Milk!] this was not cod-liver oil and malt which I loved but wretched fish oil.
How many intercoms, bofor guns and stilts were made from dried milk cans.
The big joke of the Gods is that while I was there for all this I'm still a teenager inside my head.
Just for the record Coyote: ration book [tick] Coronation mug [tick] travelling door to door parafin tanker [tick] "Esso Blee Dooler" - in fact I was 12 then - we had a TV Shirly Abercaire and Zither fantasy fantasy [ tick] Testing the air raid siren [tick] Fairy FD2 - when Britain held world air speed record [tick] Guys still getting married in battle dress [tick] Petrol going up to four bob (20 pee) a gallon! [tick]
yep - still a teenager inside.

Should we have a 1960's thread? All pale lips and black eyeliner ... would make goths look positively healthy.

The trouble is if you can rememberthe 60's you weren't there!!!...... I left school in 68 so missed most of it, but my aunt still has the brass bell I used to wear on a ribbon around my neck, she keeps it in her china cabinet. tent dresses, kaftans, discotheques, afghan coats, seeing robert Plants' first band 'The Band of Joy' play at the church hall in Dudley. In the winter they would put a floor down over the swimming baths and hold dances there, no alcohol, tea coffee and soft drinks only!!! I saw the Searchers, Hollies, Swinging Blue Jeans and many other bands far too embarassing to mention!!!

My first piercing was a safety pin through my ear (self administered) and my enduring memory is being chased down the Kings Road by a mob of teddy boys and trying to run in tartan bondage trousers ( no it wasn't kinky then) and escaping within an inch of my life. Ooh, how we change.
