If they are coming all the way from the River Nile, they might be a bit more considerate and bring asses milk. And it is real ale in the glass, not mother's ruin. You got the candles right, though! Do you get craneflies in Egypt, do you think? If not, I bet there is something much worse........

I was going to say asses milk but thought no as it would be cheese by the time it got here. You don't want a bath in cheese. (Changes name from Captain Crane to Smugboy)

Anyway, putting crane flies aside, is it me or do there seem to be loads of mosquitos about. We counted 30 in our living room the other night. I think its all the warm, damp weather.

Yes - you are right - its a record mosquito season. They hatched just as the water receded [around here anyway] Ideal conditions. My arms are covered with bites.
It has been suggested that if the climate gets much warmer the [takes deep breath, tongue protrudes as he attempts the spelling] anaphilis mosquito will get here [malaria carrier]

What are you saying about my bath water? It's not gin, you know, no matter what they say about me!! It could have been the implication that you were like St Brigit that your bath water turned into beer. Anyway back to mosquitos I have had my first mosquito bite of the year yesterday
