I see everyone has a point but, personally, if I saw/have seen someone in difficulties the last thing I think about is litigation. Going back to what I said earlier, I think it is in ones nature to either jump in or freeze. Either way, it helps to know which of the two you are. I wouldn't want to find out at a time of crisis!

Fair comment, like I said I would certainly cite them for poor judgement.
I used to work in Toys R Us on Dale End, right opposite the academy and we used to handle some of the more intoxicated teens when they collapsed in our store.
My own first aid instructor always said he would stand as a witness in court for us if litigation ever came about, and that as long as we had followed our training we would have nothing to worry about.
I would never deny help myself, but can see why some people would. At the end of the day, it boils to personal choice.

Most definitely!! This litigation is getting way out of hand, and its ludicrous that doctors, nurses, first aiders etc are being sued for doing their jobs and saving lives!!

Fortunately no one has tried to sue me for my past first aid efforts, most people are greatful, if a little embarrassed as you usualy the biggest wound is the one to their pride. But I would recommend everyone do it as you never know when you'll need to use it next.
